Pattern Stitch
Row 1— Work 4d.c. in 3rd ch. from hook* skip 3.ch.1d.c., ch. 1,1d.c. in next ch. (cluster made), skip 3 ch., 7 d.c. in next ch. (shell made) repeat from * end skip 3 ch. 4d.c. in next ch., ch. 3 turn.
Row 2 —1d.c. in each of next 3 d.c. *, skip 1d.c., cluster, in next cluster, skip 1d.c.,1d.c.in each of next 5 d.c.; repeat from * end last. Repeat skip 1 d.c.,1d.c. inlast of the next 4d.c., ch 3, turn.
Row 3 —1d.c. in first d.c. * skip 2 d.c. shell in next cluster, skip 2 d.c. cluster in next d.c. repeat from * end last repeat skip 2 d.c., cluster in next d.c. Chain 3, turn.

Work even until piece measures 14 inches or desired length — 9 pat. rows. End on the 4th row.
Left Front
Left Front Small (Medium and Large 4 full shells only) Work lcluster at beg (3 full shells), end with a cluster. Next row at front edge only leave off cluster every other row until | full pat and 2 clusters and a half pat remain. On all sizes work even until armhole measures 8 inches. Finish off.
Right Front
Work other front to correspond.
Back
To pick up back leave a full pat and cluster for armhole each side. Start half pat each end keeping each end until armhole measures same length as fronts.
Shoulder And Edging
Sew shoulder with right side of work facing you and at underarm seam work | rows.c.; work s.c. about 32 sts each side of seam; join do not turn; work backwards in s.c.in every st. finish off; work other side to correspond.
Work around fronts, keep work flat; work 4 s.c. in corners.
Make a 20 inch chain with double yarn.
Block with adamp cloth.
