aterials: Choose one of the following threads in Ecru or White: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 4 balls. J.& P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 3 balls. J.& P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 2 balls. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10 or 11.

Gauge: 6 sps make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1inch.

Starting at short side, make a chain to measure about 13 inches. Ist row: Dcin 8thch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dcinnext ch(2 sos made). Repeat from * across until 63 sps are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row: Dcinnextdc,dcineachchandineachdc across to within last sp (61 bls), ch 2, dcin 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row: Sp oversp, dcineach of next 3dc(lbl made), *ch2, skip 2dc,dcinnext dc. Repeat from * across row to within last bl, bl over bl, so oversp. Ch5, turn.

Hereafter follow chart from "A" to "Center". When work reaches center row, reverse the design, by working back from center row to Ist row. Break off.
