Easy Hook No. 7 Washcloth Edging

An orange-and-blue shell washcloth edging with sc-cluster scallops, contrasting heading rounds, and a scalloped outer edge.

Pattern instructions

Edging

Foundation

Starting at narrow edge with Orange, ch 6.

1st Row

* Holding back on hook the last loop of each sc, make sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 4 ch, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (sc-cluster made), ch 10. Repeat from * until piece is slightly longer than outer edge of washcloth, ending with ch 3, sl st in tip of first cluster.

Heading

1st Rnd

Now work around inner edge as follows: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in tip of next cluster. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

2nd Rnd

Attach Blue to first sc, sc in same place, * 2 sc in next sp, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

3rd Rnd

Attach Orange to first sc, sc in each sc around. Join and break off.

Scalloped Edge

Scalloped Edge

Attach Blue to sp preceding any scallop, sc in same sp, * sc in each st around scallop, sc in next 2 sps. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. Sew edging to washcloth.
