VAMP-Ch 16 loosely for toe.

Row 1

Row 1-Work 2 dc in 4th st from hook, * skip 1st, 3 dcin next st (a cluster); repeat from * 5 times (7 clusters); ch 3 counts asldc.

Row 2

Row 2-Ch 3, turn, 1 dcin first dc, acluster of 3 dcinspace between 3rd and 4th dc, * skip 3 dc, acluster in next space; repeat from * 4 times, 2 dc in 3rd st of turning dc.

Row 3

Row 3-Ch 3, turn, acluster in soace between 2nd and 3rd dc, * skip 3 dc, aclusterin next space; repeat from* 5 times, | dc in 3rd st of turning ch.

Row 4

Row 4-Ch 3, turn, | dc inspace between first and 2nd dc, *acluster of 4 dc in next space between clusters; repeat from * 5 times, 2 dc in space before turning ch.

SIDE OF SLIPPER-Ch 3, turn, 2 dc inspace between first and 2nd dc, acluster of 5 dcin each of next 2 spaces, 1 dc in center dc of next cluster.

Next row

Next row-Ch 3, turn, 2 dc inspace between first and 2nd dc, acluster of 5 dcin each of next 2 spaces, 1 dcin 3rd st of turning ch.

Repeat last row

Repeat last row until side measures 5 % ins. above vamp, or desired length to center back of slipper. Fasten off.

Other side

With loop on hook, working on last row of vamp, skip center cluster, 1 dc in 3rd dc of next cluster, a cluster of 5 dc in each of next 2 spaces, 3 dc in space before turning ch. Finish this side to correspond. Sew back seam.

Joining

Round 1

JOINING-Round 1-From right side, working around lower edge, beg. at back seam, ch 2, 2 hdc on side edge of each row to foundation ch, 3 hdc in corner st of ch, 1|hdc in each of next 11 sts, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc ineach row to end; join with slip st on top of ch.

Round 2

Round 2-Ch 2, continue around working 1 hdc in each st to corner, ch2,1scineach st across toe to next corner, ch 2, |ndc in each st to end; join with slip st. Fasten off.

Toe Piece

Toe Piece-Ch 12. Work 10 dc on ch. Fasten off.

Final round

Working through stitching around sole, work as many sc around as there are hdc onlower edge of slipper, plus 10 sc for center front. Final round-Beg. at center back, join top to sole, working lsc through 1st of top and | st of sole to toe, join next 10 sts at center of sole to 10 sts on toe piece, work other side of slipper to correspond. Fasten off. Tack side edges of toe piece to slipper.

Beading

BEADING

BEADING-Working around ankle, beg. at center back, with loop on hook, work 1 dc on side edge of first row, * ch 1,1 dc in next row; repeat from * on sides; working across instep, ch1, 1 dcin every 2nd dc, ch], join with slip st to first dc. Continue around working | sc in each st, join to first sc, Fasten off.

Alternate joining note

Slipper could be joined by sewing top and sole tog,., in which case make ach with double strand to form welt and sew over seam. Lace velvet ribbon through beading and tie as illustrated.
