Afghan Coat Pattern

- Plastic crochet hook · Size H or any size which will result in motif gauge
Pattern instructions
Motif
With any color ch 4, join to form a ring, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in ring, * ch 1, 3 dc in ring, repeat from * twice, ch 1, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn.
Attach next color in ch 1 loop, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same loop, * 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next loop, repeat from * twice, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn.
Attach next color in corner loop, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same loop, * 3 dc in next space bet corners, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, in next loop, repeat from * twice, 3 dc in next space, join in 3rd st of ch.
Attach Black in corner loop, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same loop, * 3 dc in each of the next 2 spaces, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in corner loop, repeat from * twice, 3 dc in each of the next 2 spaces, join in 3rd st of ch.
Ch 1, work 3 sc in each corner st and work 1 sc in each st in round, join in 1st sc, cut yarn.
Work 97 (107) more motifs in same manner working colors as desired.
Finishing
Sew motifs tog through loop in back of sts of last row according to charts below. Line coat if desired.
Trim
With Black, ch 3, work 5 sc in 1st st of ch. Do not join or turn rows. Working into back loop of each st work 1 sc in each st until trim is long enough to fit all around edge of coat. Finish each sleeve edge in same manner.
Note
If a shorter or longer coat is desired, work in same manner omitting 1 row or adding 1 row of motifs as required.
