A crochet boutonniere with light peach and steel blue petals, pep centers, and wire stems in Star pearl cotton, originally published in Star #15, Book of Crocheted, Knitted, Tatted.

  • Steel crochet hook · No. 8 or 9

Pattern instructions

Peach Petals

Foundation

With Lt. Peach, ch 8, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 15 sc in ring, join.

2nd Row

Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, ch 1, turn.

Next 2 Rows

Increase 1 st each side.

Next Row

Increase to 8 sts and work 1 row even.

Next Row

Decrease 1 st then decrease 1 st each side until 1 st remains, sl st down side of petal and work 4 more petals, break thread.

Steel Blue Petals

Foundation

With Steel Blue, ch 8, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 15 sc in ring, ch 1 turn and next 2 rows increase 1 st at the end of each row then decrease 1 st at the beginning of each row until 1 st remains. Sl st down side of petal and work 4 more petals. Place these petals over the Peach petals and fasten them together.

Assembly

Assembly

Place a length of wire over 7 pep centers, fold in half, slip through both sections of flower and fasten in back of flower. Wind Blue Pearl Cotton around stems. Work 2 more flowers, arrange in position and wind thread over the lower half of three stems and bend wire so the end is under the flowers.
