Round 1

BERET Starting at center top and using MC, ch 2. Round 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

Round 2: 2 sc in each st — 12 sts.

Row 1

SCARF Using MC, ch 33 sts. Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each st to end of ch — 32 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc.

Rows 3 and 4

Rows 3 and 4: Repeat Row 2. Break off MC. Join CC through loop on hook.

Row 5: Using CC, ch 1, turn, * 1 sc in each of 6 sc, 1 long dc, repeat from * 3 times more, 1 sc in each of last 6 sc.

Rows 6, 7 and 8

Rows 6, 7 and 8: Repeat Row 2. Break off CC. Join MC through loop on hook.

Row 9

Finishing scarf

FINISHING: FRINGE: Cut strands of yarn 12 inches long. Using 3 strands each of MC and CC, knot in every 3rd st across each short edge. Trim cut ends. Steam.
