Hanger Cover
HANGER COVER... With Crystal Blue, work as for Elephant Hanger.
Head
HEAD... Starting at center, ch 2.
1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).
3rd rnd: 2 sc in next 7 sc (top of head), sc in next 5 sc.
Make sc in each sc around, increasing 7 sc evenly across top of head until piece measures 12 inches, then sc in each sc around. Join and break off.
Back
BACK... Work as for Back of Elephant Hanger.
Stuff Head and sew to hanger.
Ear
EAR (Make 2) ... Ch 16. Join with sl st to form ring.
1st rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each ch around.
Sc in each sc around until piece measures | inch.
Next rnd: (Sc in next 6 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc— dec made) twice.
Complete as for Ear of Bear Hanger. Stuff and sew to Head.
Claw
CLAW ... Work as for Bear Hanger.
Tongue
TONGUE... With Red, ch 7.
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, 3 sc in last ch; working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each ch across. Break off.
Sew Tongue in place.
Finishing
Embroider mouth with Red and nose with Black.
Cut a circle of felt for each eye and place a button in center of each piece and sew to head.
Cut 6 strands of Blue 2 inches long and sew in place for whiskers. Cut 8 strands each 1 inch long and sew in place for eyebrows.
