Runner
Starting at short side, make a chain 17 inches long (8 ch sts to linch). Ist row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 4, skip next 4 ch, sc innext 2 ch. Repeat from * across until 21 sps in allare made, ending with 1 sc. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 7, turn.
2nd row: * Skip 1 chof next ch-4, dtrinnext 2 ch, ch 4. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dtrinlast sc. Ch], turn.
3rd row: Scinfirst dtr, ch2,*scinnext2d ttr, ch 4. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, skip 2 ch of turning chain, sc innext ch. Ch 9, turn.
4th row: * Skip | ch of next ch-4, dtrinnext 2 ch, ch 4. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 4, dtrinlastsc. Ch], turn.
5th row: Scinnext dtr, *ch4, scinnext 2 dtr. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 4, skip 4 ch, sc in next ch. Ch 7, turn.
Repeat 2nd to 5th rows incl until piece measures 28 inches, ending with the 3rd row.
Edging
EDGING... Ist rnd: Ch 4 and make tr closely around, having 7 trincenter st of each corner. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch], *scinnext 4tr, ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook (picot made), sc innext tr, picot. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.
Starch lightly and press.
