Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball each of 2 colors. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 3. When completed, scarf measures about 36 x 20 inches.

Foundation

Starting at long side, with one color ch 252 (to measure about 38 inches), turn.

1st row

1st row: * Pull loop on hook out 1½ inches, thread over, draw through loop, then, ch 1 to fasten (thus a loop st is made), skip 5 ch, sc in next. Repeat from * across (42 loop sts). Make a loop st 1½ inches long, turn.

2nd row

2nd row: * Sc in next loop, make 1 loop st. Repeat from * across.

Repeat 2nd row

Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 10 inches. Break off. Attach 2nd color and work for 10 more inches.

Next row

Then ch 3, * sc in next loop, ch 5. Repeat from * across. Break off.
