Foundation

Make hairpin lace for desired length. Break off.

1st row

Attach thread to 1st 5 loops on one side (taking care to keep the twist) and, working on all 5 loops at the same time, * ch 3, 3 dc in same loop, ch 2, 3 dc in same loop, ch 3, sc in same loop, sc in next loop. Repeat from * across, ending row with sc in same last loop. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row

* 3 dc in next ch-2 sp between dc-groups, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 loop, sc in next ch-3 loop, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Break off.

Opposite Side

Opposite side

Attach thread to 1st 5 loops on opposite side (keeping twist of loops throughout as before) and make 6 dc in this 5-strand loop, * ch 3, 6 dc in next 5-strand loop. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row

* Skip 2 dc, dc in next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in 1st st of next ch-3, ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next dc. Repeat from * across. Break off.
