FINISHING: Run wire on wrong side along each of 6 long lines of post sts. Cut off extending ends of wire. Wind about 2 yards of thread at point of cornucopia to protect wire ends. Dip cornucopia in a heavy starch solution. As cornucopia dries, form into shape bending wires at same time.

Starch Directions

Starch directions

STARCH DIRECTIONS: Dissolve ¼ cup starch in ½ cup of cold water. Boil about 1¼ cups of water, remove from flame, then slowly stir the starch mixture into boiling water stirring constantly. Place back on flame until starch thickens. As soon as starch is cool enough to handle, dip cornucopia and squeeze starch through it thoroughly. Remove excess starch with towel.
