Lampshade Cover Pattern

* Ch 5, trc in 5th st from hook, repeat from * 32 times. Work should measure about 15 inches, join being careful not to twist work.

Ch 12, trc in same st where 1st trc was made, * ch 8, trc in st where next trc was made, repeat from * 30 times, ch 8, join in 4th st of ch (33 meshes).

Ch 1, sc in next mesh, * ch 5, sc in same mesh, sc in next mesh, repeat from * all around ending with ch 5, sc in same mesh, join in 1st sc.

Sl st to center of loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around.

Sl st into 1st loop, ch 5, sc in same loop, * ch 2, skip 1 loop, 2 trc with ch 2 between in next loop, ch 2, 2 dtrc (3 times over hook) with ch 2 between in same loop, ch 2, 2 trc with ch 2 between in same loop (shell), ch 2, skip 1 loop, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in next loop, repeat from * all around (there will be a ch 5 loop in 1st mesh and a ch 5 loop in last mesh in this round). Do not join. Place a marker at beginning of each round.

Ch 2, shell in 1st ch 5 loop, ch 2, * 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, ch 2, shell in next ch 5 loop, repeat from * all around.

Ch 2, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of 1st shell, * ch 2, shell in next ch 5 loop, ch 2, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, repeat from * all around. Repeat the last 2 rounds twice.

Same as 6th round but having ch 3 before and after each shell.

Same as 7th round but having ch 3 before and after each shell. Repeat the last 2 rounds once.

* Ch 3, 2 trc, 3 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop, ch 3, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, repeat from * all around ending with ch 3, 2 trc, 3 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop.

* Ch 3, sc between 1st 2 dtrc of next shell, ch 5, sc in next loop of same shell, ch 3, 2 trc, 3 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop, repeat from * all around ending with ch 3, sc between 1st 2 dtrc of next shell, ch 5, sc in next loop of same shell.

* Ch 3, 2 trc, 3 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop, ch 3, sc between 1st 2 dtrc of next shell, ch 5, sc in next loop of same shell, ch 5, repeat from * all around ending to correspond.

Same as 17th round.

Work in same manner as 18th round but having 3 trc, 2 dtrc, 3 trc with ch 2 between each st in each shell.

* Ch 3, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, ch 3, 3 trc, 2 dtrc, 3 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop, repeat from * all around ending to correspond.

* Ch 2, work a shell of 2 trc, 2 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next ch 5 loop, ch 2, skip 1 loop of next shell, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in next loop of same shell, ch 2, skip 1 loop of same shell, work a shell of 2 trc, 2 dtrc, 2 trc with ch 2 between each st in next loop, ch 2, skip 1 loop of same shell, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in next loop, repeat from * all around ending to correspond. All shells are worked in same manner for remainder of lampshade cover.

* Ch 2, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, ch 2, shell in next ch 5 loop, repeat from * all around ending to correspond.

* Ch 2, shell in next ch 5 loop, ch 2, 1 sc, ch 5, 1 sc in center of next shell, repeat from * all around ending to correspond. Repeat the last 2 rounds once.

Same as 23rd round, cut thread.

With right side of work toward you, attach thread in 1st loop of shell of 26th round leaving last round free and working on the 26th round, * ch 5, sc in next loop of same shell, repeat from * 3 times, ch 5, sc in next ch 2 loop, ch 5, sc in center loop of next shell of previous round (Same space where the ch 5 loop of 26th round was made), ch 5, sc in next ch 2 loop, ch 5, sc in 1st loop of next shell, repeat from * all around.

Sl st into loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same space, * ch 4, 3 dc in next loop, repeat from * all around, ch 4, join.

Sl st into 1st loop, ch 5, trc in same loop, * ch 1, trc in same loop, repeat from * 3 times, * ch 3, 6 trc with ch 1 between each trc in next loop, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join in 4th st of ch.

Ch 1, sc in same space, ** ch 3, sl st in top of sc for picot, * sc in next ch 1 space, sc in next trc, ch 3, sl st in top of sc for picot, repeat from * 4 times, 2 sc in next loop, ch 3, sl st in top of last sc for picot, sc in same loop, sc in next trc, repeat from ** all around ending to correspond, cut thread.

Holding 1st round toward you, attach thread in any loop of 2nd round, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in same loop, * ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in next loop of 2nd round, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.

Same as 3rd round of lower ruffle.

Ch 5, ** trc in next loop of same shell, ch 1, trc in next loop of same shell, * ch 1, trc in next trc of same shell, ch 1, trc in next loop of same shell, repeat from * once, ch 1, trc in next loop of same shell, ch 1, trc in next trc of same shell, ch 3, trc in 1st trc of next shell, ch 1, repeat from ** all around ending to correspond, join in 4th st of ch.

Same as 4th round of lower ruffle but repeating from * 7 times instead of 4 times. Starch lightly. Lace ribbon through beading at top. Lace elastic through center of shells of last round. This round fits to inside of shade.
