A.64—4 balls— Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7 "Speed-Cro-Sheen," Art. C.44—4 balls—Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero)

With No. M.61-D Nu-Ecru, make a chain 24 inches long. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next ch, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch. Repeat from * across until row measures 17 inches, ending with ch 2, dc in next 3 ch. Cut off remaining chain. Drop Nu-Ecru, draw loop of No. 122 Watermelon through loop on hook. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in first 3 dc, * working behind ch-2 of previous row, make dc in next 2 ch on starting chain, sc in next 2 dc. Repeat from * across, sc in top of turning chain. Drop Watermelon. 3rd row: Draw loop of Ecru through first sc, ch 5, * skip next 2 sc, dc in next 2 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc. Change color as before. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in first dc, * working behind ch-2, make dc in next 2 sc of row below, sc in next 2 dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in last 2 sc, sc in 3rd ch of turning chain. Drop Watermelon. 5th row: Draw loop of Ecru through first sc, ch 3, * dc in next 2 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in last 3 sts. Change color. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd to 5th rows incl until piece measures 11 inches.
