Round Doily Pattern #1
An 18-inch round black doily worked in Lily Double-Quick, Frost-Tone, or Sky-Tone cotton.

Doily
Use 1 strand DOUBLE QUICK throughout, or 2 strands FROST-TONE or SKY-TONE.
Starting in center, ch 12, join with sl st to form ring.
Ch 3, 23 dc in ring, join to ch-3.
Ch 9, dtr in next dc, (ch 2, dtr in next dc) 22 times, ch 2, join to 7th st of ch-9.
Ch 11, dtr in next dtr, (ch 4, dtr in next dtr) 22 times, ch 4, join to 7th st of ch-11.
Ch 12, dtr in next dtr, (ch 5, dtr in next dtr) 22 times, ch 5, join to 7th st of ch-12.
Ch 1, sc in same st, (5 sc in next sp, sc in next dtr) repeated around; join to 1st sc.
Ch 1, sc at base of same sc, (working over sc of last rnd, 5 sc in next sp, sc at base of next sc) repeated around; join.
Ch 10, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, (ch 5, sk 2 sc, tr in next sc, ch 5, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc) repeated around; join to 5th st of ch-10.
Ch 1, 3 sc in same st, (sl st in each ch of next 2 lps, 3 sc in next st) repeated around; join with sl st in 1st sc, sc in next sc.
(Ch 9, sc in center sc on next point) repeated around; join to 1st sc.
Ch 1, sc in same st, (sl st in each ch of next sp, sc in next sc) repeated around; join.
Ch 15, sk 4 sl sts, sc in next sl st, (ch 8, sk 4 sl sts, dtr in next sc, ch 8, sk 4 sl sts, sc in next sl st) repeated around; join to 7th st of ch-15.
Repeat Rnd 8.
Repeat Rnd 9 with ch-12 sps.
Repeat Rnd 10.
Ch 18, sc in center of next sp, (ch 10, trtr in sc between sps, ch 10, sc in center of next sp) repeated around; join to 8th st of ch-19.
Repeat Rnd 8.
Repeat Rnd 9 with ch-15 sps.
Repeat Rnd 10.
Ch 23, sc in center of next sp, * ch 13, along tr (thread over 5 times and work off by twos as for tr tr) in next sc between sps, ch 13, sc in center of next sp; repeat from * around; join to 10th st of ch-23.
Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 6, sl st in sc for a p, sc in same place with sc, * sl st in each ch of next 2 lps, (sc, p, sc) in next long tr; repeat from * around; join and fasten off.
Starch Doily, stretch and pin it right-side-up in a true circle, press flat thru a cloth and leave until dry.
