Ch. means chain, s.c. means single crochet, d. c. means double crochet, tr. c. means treble crochet, d. tr. c. means double treble crochet, sl. st. means slip stitch, (*) means repeat.
Motif
First Row.—Cnh. 7,1d.c. into the second ch. from the beginning, ch. 3, (*),1d.c. into the same, ch. 3 and repeat from (*) three times, ch. 3, catch with sl. st. into the third ch. of ch. 7, thus making aring of 6 holes.
Second Row. —Cnh. 4, 5tr.c. into first hole of ch. 3, 1tr.c. into d. c. of previous row, and repeat all around, join with sl. st.
Third Row.—Cnh. 3, 2 tr. c. in first tr. c. of second row, (**) ch. 3,2 tr.c.,1d.c. into the same stitch, ch. 5, catch into the second ch. to form picot. Ch. 11, skip 3, catch back into the next chain to form picot, ch. 1, 1d.c. into the ninth ttr. c. of second row, 2 tr. c. into the same. Repeat from (**),
Fourth Row.—Cnh. 4, 2 d. tr. c. into the first hole of third row, ch. 5, 3d. tr.c. into same hole, ch. 7, catch withs. c. into the center ch. between the 2 picots, ch. 7, and repeat all around.
Fifth Row.—Ch. 3,1d.c. into each ch. with 2 d.c. into each corner and 2 chains between.
Sixth Row.—Cnh. 4, catch back into first to form picot, 6s. c., ch. 4, form picot, and continue all around.
Border
First Row.—Make aplain ch. the desired length. 1d.c. into each ch. Turn.
Second Row.—Cnh. 4,1d.c. into the fifth ch., ch. 2,1d.c. into the same, ch. 2, skip 4, 1d.c.,ch.2,1d.c. into the same. Continue across.
Third Row.—l1s.c. into the first hole of preceding row, ch. 1, 3 tr.c. between the two d.c., ch.1,1s.c. into next hole, ch. 1, and repeat all across.
Cushion Corner
First Row. —Make in first row 2 d.c. into one stitch and | ch. inbetween.
Second Row. —Make 1d.c. into the hole of first row, ch. 3, 1ltr.c.,ch.3,1d.c.
Third Row.—3 tr. c. into first hole between the first two spokes, ch. 1, 1s.c. into the same hole, ch. 1, 5t. c. into the center spoke, ch. 1, 1s.c. into the next hole ch. 1, 3tr.c. into the same, ch. 1, and continue across.
Embroidery Notes
The petals of the flowers are worked Satin Stitch in Tan Rope and outlined in Green CELESTA. The centers are outlined in Green and filled in with French Knots in Tan.
Construction Notes
The cushion requires 18 skeins of 341 Rope, 7 skeins of 1126 CELESTA and ROYAL SOCIETY CROCHET COTTON 1010, Size 3, 2 balls. The scarf requires 15 skeins of 341 Rope, 6 skeins of 1126 CELESTA and ROYAL SOCIETY CROCHET COTTON 1010, Size 3, 2 balls.
The cushion has 6 square motifs and an edge all around. The scarf has 5 square motifs and edge across both ends.
