Introduction

Note

Gloves to match the costume are a smart accessory. A new and novel way of making one pair of gloves do for many occasions is to crochet detachable gauntlet cuffs according to the directions given here. Simply sew on a hook and eye at the wrist line and complete your ensemble by putting on a pair of these gay cuffs with your Summer cotton gloves. These cuffs should be pressed carefully over a damp cloth and may be starched slightly, if desired.

Thread note

Either Clark's O.N.T. Knitting & Crochet Cotton; or Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet Cotton Size 30 in Boilfast color to match the crocheted hat or scarf may be used. Directions are given for the Knitting & Crochet Cotton. If you select the Mercerized Crochet, use a steel crochet hook No. 5 or 6, and increase the number of stitches in the foundation ch to correspond to the wrist measurement and likewise increase the number of motifs made.
