TASSEL. Wind cotton over a 4Y%-inch cardboard 125 times, take a 6-yd. length of the cotton, slip end through top of tassel and tie firmly, slip tassel off card, draw the 6 yds. of cotton through the top of cap, and make the cord.

Cord. Ch2,s cin Ist ch, * turn work around, insert hook through both loops of st just made, and make sc. Repeat from * until 10 inches are made. Fasten onring. 3scinring, ch3 forap, 3 sc,p,3sc,ch3,and carry chin front of the screw, 3Sc,p, 3s8c,p,3sC,joinand break off. Sew cap on tassel.
