Tassel Belt Pattern #2315
A tapered crochet belt in solid and variegated Clark's Brilliant with tassels and stuffed circles at each end.

Notes
Directions are given for a size 28 belt. For other sizes, make foundation chain shorter or longer, as desired.
Belt
Starting along center, with double strand of solid color, make a chain to measure about 30 inches long.
Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across until row measures 28½ inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1, turn.
Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Skip 1st sc (a decrease), sc in each sc to within 2 sc from end of row, skip next sc, sc in last sc (another decrease). Ch 1, turn. Break off at end of 9th row.
Attach thread to foundation chain, and work other side to correspond.
Tassels
Cut a cardboard 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. Cut 2 strands of variegated color, each 12 inches long, and place them across the width of cardboard. Then wind 2 strands of variegated color around the length of cardboard about 48 times. Break off. Pick up both ends of the 12-inch strands, and tie securely. Remove cardboard, and cut loops at one end. Trim this end evenly.
Circles
With double strand of variegated color, ch 10. Join with sl st to form ring.
20 sc in ring.
Sc in each sc around.
* Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.
Repeat 2nd, 3rd and 2nd rnds.
* Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.
Sc in each sc around. Break off.
Finishing
Pull loop-end of tassel through a circle for ½ inch. Sew this end of tassel to belt, as in illustration, 1½ inches in from end. Stuff circle with cotton, and sew outer edges of circle to belt. Finish other end of belt to correspond. Fasten belt with hooks and eyes.
