First Piece
Ch109, skip 3. ch from hook, 1s cin each of next 2 ch, * ch 5, skip 3,s cin each of next 2 ch. Repeat from * across, ending with1scinlast ch(21loops). Ch 3, turn.
2nd row: Scinto Istloop, *ch5,scinsame loop, skip 2sc of previous row, sc innext loop, and repeat from * across, ending withch5,1scinsameloop,scinturning ch-3, ch 5, turn.
3rd row: 2scinlstloop, *ch5,2scinnext loop, repeat from * across, ending with ch-3, skip the lasts c,s cinturning ch-3, ch 5, turn.
4th row: Scinlstloop, *scin next, ch5,scinsame loop. Repeat from * across, ending
withs cinnextloop, ch5,scin 3rd ch of turning ch-5, ch 3 turn. 5throw: Scinlstloop, *ch5,2scinnext. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Repeat from beginning of 2nd row until piece measures 14 inches, ending with 2nd row.
Finish with 1 row of 2s cin each loop, with ch-3 between.
Work down the long side with 2 sc into Istloop, *1sc between the 2sc,2scinthe next 3 loops, and repeat from * across. Make 5scinto corner loop, *1sc between the2sc,3scinnext loop, and repeat from * across. Work the other long and short sides in same manner, joining end with sli st tothe Istsc.Ch3,dcineachsc, taking back loop of st only, and skipping 1s cin the beginning and1scinthe end, inorder to have 154 dc across. Work 2 dcineach of the 3 corners c. Work across short end, making 10 increases along the way, in order to have 94 dc between the 6 dc at corner. Work the other two sides in same manner, and join with sl st.
Scallop Row: Ch3,dc into each of next4dc,*scinnextdc,ch3, skip 2dc,dc innextdc,ch2, skip dc, dcinnext, ch 3, skip 2dc,scin next, 1dcineach of next 6dc, and repeat from * 9 times, ending with 5 dc instead of 6. Work corner with 2 dcin each of 6dc below, then5dc,1sc,andrepeat scallop around, joining with sl st at end of the first ch-3.
When piece is complete, it measures 10 x 15 inches. Work another piece to correspond.
The third piece is 6x 15 inches. Ch 64 to start, and follow same directions, working until piece measures 14 inches. Finish as the other pieces, the only difference being the number of dc's onshort sides (49 dc) between the corner groups of
6 dc. This attention to the number of dcis important, in order to make the scallops come out evenly.
