PLACE MAT... Starting at long side with Purple, make a chain 24 inches long. 1st row: Dc in 6th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across until row measures 18 inches, having an uneven number of dc. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: Skip first dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 1, skip 1 ch of turning chain, dc in next ch. Ch 4, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 12 inches. Break off.

WEAVING. ... Cut 6 strands of Baby Pink, each 24 inches long. Weave these strands through first row of sps on long side, leaving an even amount free on both sides for Fringe. Cut 6 more strands and weave through next row of sps, going over same sps that were worked over previously. Work 4 more rows the same way. Next row: Continue weaving, working under spaces that were worked over previously. Repeat last row to within last 6 rows, then weave last 6 rows same as first 6 rows. Stitch Fringe securely on each end. Trim ends evenly. Block to measurements

Side Piece... 1st rnd: Ch 4, * skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join. 2nd rnd: Ch 4, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join. Repeat 2nd rnd until 10 rnds have been completed. Break off.

WEAVING. ... Cut 6 strands of Baby Pink, about 72 inches long. Weave these strands through first rnd of sps, then through 2nd rnd, working under sps that were worked over previously. Continue in this manner until all sps have been filled. Sew ends securely.
