Runner measures about 14 x 34 inches ROYAL PERLE No. 5 10 balls of Light and 5 balls of Dark. Steel Crochet Hook No. 6. Runner is made of individual motifs joined while working. GAUGE: Each motif measures 22 inches from point to point.

First Motif

1st rnd

FIRST MOTIF... Starting at center with Dark, ch 6. Join with sl st to formring. Ist rnd: Ch 3,17 dcinring. Slstintop st of starting chain.

2nd rnd

2nd rnd: Ch 3, holding back the last loop of each dc on hook make 2 dc insame place as sl st, * thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), ch 5, sk 2 dc, holding back the last loop of each dc onhook make 3 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, sl stintip of Ist cluster made. Fasten off.

3rd rnd

3rd rnd: Attach Light in any sp, chl, andin each sp around make sc, hdc, dc, 3tr,dc, hdc and sc. Slstin lst sc made (6 petals).

4th rnd

4th rnd: Chl, scinsame place as sl st, *ch5, in center tr of petal make dc, ch 3 anddc;ch5,scin Ist sc of next petal. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, sl stin Ist sc made. Fasten off.

Second Motif

4th rnd

SECOND MOTIF... Work as for Ist Motif to 3rd rnd inclusive. 4th rnd: Chl, scinsame place as sl st, *ch5, dc in center tr of petal, ch1, slstin ch-3 sp at a point on Ist Motif, ch1, dc insame place as last dc on 2nd Motif, ch 5, sc in Ist sc of next petal. Repeat from * once more, then complete rnd as for Ist Motif. Fasten off.

Make 93 motifs in all, joining motifs as 2nd Motif was joined to Ist, following diagram (where 3 points meet, join 3rd point to joining of previous two).
