MATERIALS: J.& P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 4 balls of White. Steel Crochet Hook No. 1. Use a double thread throughout.

Body

Starting chain

Starting at short side, make a chain 12 inches long.

1st row

1st row: Sc in 12th ch from hook, * ch 7, skip 4 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 7, turn.

2nd row

2nd row: * Sc in next loop, ch 7. Repeat from * across. Ch 7, turn.

Repeat 2nd row

Repeat the 2nd row until piece measures 36 inches. Ch 8, turn.

Border row

Now work as follows: In next loop make (tr tr, ch 2) 5 times and tr tr; * in next loop make 7 tr tr with ch-2 between each tr tr. Repeat from * across short side, along long side and across other short side. Ch 3, turn.

Following row

Following row: * Sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across to beginning of previous row. Fasten off.

Finishing

Press through a damp cloth.
