Wild Rose Blouse Pattern #147

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Knit-Crochet, 8 balls of White and 6 balls of color 116 Blossom Pink. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 6 or 7.

The entire blouse is made of separate flowers, which should measure 1½ inches across. To make flowers, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring. * Ch 4, 2 tr into ring, ch 4, sc into ring. Repeat from * 5 more times. (6 petals.) Fasten off and tie firmly.

To join flowers in a strip, make 4 petals of next flower, then ch 4, tr, join with sl st to petal of last flower, tr, ch 4, sc into ring, ch 4, tr, join with sl st to next petal on last flower, tr, ch 4, sc into ring. Fasten off.

With Blossom Pink, make 1 strip each of 24 flowers, 15 flowers, 14 flowers, 9 flowers, 8 flowers, 7 flowers, 5 flowers, 3 flowers; 2 strips each of 23 flowers, 22 flowers, 11 flowers, 10 flowers, 6 flowers, 2 flowers.

With White, make 1 strip each of 24 flowers, 15 flowers, 11 flowers, 5 flowers, 4 flowers, 3 flowers; 2 strips each of 23 flowers, 22 flowers, 13 flowers, 8 flowers, 6 flowers, 1 flower; 3 strips of 9 flowers.

Refer to chart and add flowers of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 petals at ends of the rows, indicated by symbols. Arrange rows in numbers shown on chart and join with cat stitch, picking up a st in a Pink petal and then a st of a White petal to end of row, using a needle threaded with White.

Join underarm seams with sc's, and ch's of necessary lengths between, to keep work flat. Finish around bottom, neckline and sleeves with ch's, joined to edge with sc's. Sew buttons on opening at back.
