Notes
Lace measures 12½ inches deep. One pattern measures about 17 inches wide, and requires about 475 yds. of thread.
Choose one of the following threads in White, size 50: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet. J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet. J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet.
Lace
Starting at lower edge, make a chain (18 chain sts to 1 inch) to measure ½ longer than desired length.
Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across for desired length (number of dc should be divisible by 309, plus 1). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
Skip 1st 3 dc, dc in next dc, * ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc. Repeat from * across (number of spaces should be divisible by 103). Ch 5, turn.
* Dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, dc in turning ch. Ch 5, turn.
20 sps, dc in each of next 2 ch, dc in next dc (1 bl); make 10 more bls, 40 sps, 12 bls, 20 sps (this completes one pattern). Repeat pattern the necessary number of times. Ch 5, turn.
Dc in next dc (sp over sp); make 16 more sps, dc in each of next 2 ch, dc in next dc; make 2 more bls, 12 sps, 3 bls, 34 sps, 3 bls, 11 sps, 3 bls, 17 sps (this completes one pattern). Repeat pattern necessary number of times. Ch 5, turn.
Hereafter, starting at 3rd row, follow chart to top, always repeating design necessary number of times.
