Intermediate Hook No. 6 Curtain Lace

Curtain lace with picot and ring motifs joined in a repeating figure pattern, finished with a dc row. Originally published in Spool Cotton #52, A Bookful of Crochet.

Pattern instructions

Figure

Foundation

Ch 5, sc in 1st st of ch to form p. Make 2 more picots the same way. Then ch 22, join with sl st to 1st st of this ch to form ring.

First half

Work around half of ring, making 7 sc, ch 3, 7 sc into ring. Make a row of 9 p's (same as before). Join with sc to bottom of 3rd p from hook. * Make another p and join with sc to bottom of next p. Repeat from * 5 more times.

Second half

In other half of ring make 7 sc, ch 3, 7 sc. Make 3 p's, joining each to corresponding p's. This completes one figure of pattern.

Length

Join figures

Ch 10, make another figure, joining ring to 1st as follows: Into ring work 7 sc, take out hook and draw thread loop through the last ch-3 loop of the last figure, and continue as before.

Repeat

Make figures with ch 10 between for desired length.

Finish

Edge

Finish edge with sc in each ch and between the joined p's. Then ch 4, turn and work a row of dc, * ch 1, skip 1 sc and dc in next st. Repeat from * across.
