Bedroom Set Pattern #1542
Joined popcorn-and-picot motif bedroom set in Sillateen Sansil. Large piece uses 55 motifs (5x7); small piece uses 24 motifs (3x8). Originally published in Star #15.

Materials
M ATERIALS REQUIRED— American Thread Company Sillateen Sansil.
4 Balls of Shaded White, Yellow and Orange or any solid or shaded color desired.
6 Balls of Cream.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10.
Each Motif measures about 2Y%4 inches. 55 Motifs 5x7 are required for the large piece and 24 Motifs 3x8 are required for the small piece.
Add rows of Motifs to the large piece for a scarf to match.
Large Motif
With Yellow, Ch 7, join to form aring, ch 4, dcinto ring, * ch 1,dcinto ring, repeat from * 9 times, ch 1, join in 3rd st of ch.
2nd Row—Ch 3, 3dcinsame space, slloop off hook, insertin Ist st and pull through, ch 3,* 4d cinnextdc, sl loop off hook insert in Ist dc and pull through (popcorn) ch 3, repeat from * 10 times, joinin Ist popcorn st, break thread.
3rd Row—Attach Cream, ch7,d cinnext popcorn st * ch 4,dcinnext popcorn st, repeat from * 9 times, ch 4, join in 3rd st of ch/7.
4th Row—Ch 68, sl stin 5th st from hook for picot, ch 3, *s cinloop,ch3,dcindc,ch5,slstintop of dcjust made for picot, ch 3, repeat from 6 all around, join. Break thread.
Joining Motifs
Work asecond motif same as first motif joining in 4th row as follows, ch 8, sl stin 5th st from hook for picot, ch 3,sc inloop,ch3,dcindc,ch2, slstin picot of Ist motif, ch 2, complete picot, ch 3,scinnextloop of 2nd motif, ch 3,d cinnext dc of 2nd motif, ch 2, sl st in next picot of Ist motif, ch 2, complete picot and finish row same as first motif.
Work a 3rd motif and join to 2nd motif in same manner leaving 1 free picot to fill in later.
Work a 4th motif and join to 2nd and 3rd motifs insame manner leaving | free picot between joinings.
Small Motif
Small Motif. With Cream, fasten thread in free picot, ch 2,2trcinjoining between 2 large motifs, picot, I trcin same space, *ch2,scinnext free picot, ch 2, 2 trc, picot, ltrcin joining between next 2 motifs, and repeat from * twice, ch 2, join, break thread.
