Butterfly Luncheon Set Pattern #15

BLOCK-(Size-2½ inches)-Ch 7, dc in 7th ch from hook, (ch 3, dc in same st) 4 times, working over starting end to cover it up, ch 3, join with sl st in 3d ch of next ch-6.

(Sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, 4 tr in same sp, ch 4, sc in same sp) 6 times. Ch 5, remove hook from lp, let ch-5 lie up back of next petal, insert hook in 4th tr of petal, catch lp and draw thru.

Ch 11, tr in 1st tr on next petal, (ch 7, Sk 2 tr, tr in next tr, ch 6, tr in 1st tr on next petal) repeated around. Join final ch-7 to 5th st of 1st ch-11.

Ch 3, * 4 dc in half of next ch-6 lp, ch 8, sl st in last dc for a p, 3 dc in bal. of same sp, dc in next tr, 4 dc in half of next ch-7 lp, ** ch 6, sl st in 5th ch from hook for a p, ch 12, p, ch 2, sl st in last dc (p-lp made), 4 dc in same sp, dc in next tr. Repeat from * around, join to top of ch-3. Fasten off.

Repeat to ** in Row 4. Ch 6, p, ch 3, sl st in center st of a p-lp on 1st Block, ch 8, p, ch 2, sl st back in last dc on 2d Block, 4 dc in same sp, dc in next tr, 4 dc in half of next sp, ch 4, sl st in next ch-8 lp on 1st Block, ch 4, sl st back in last dc on 2d Block, 3 dc in bal. of same sp, dc in next tr, 4 dc in half of next sp, ch 6, p, ch 3, sl st in center st of next p-lp on 1st Block, ch 8, p, ch 2, sl st back in last dc on 2d Block, 4 dc in same sp, dc in next tr. Complete row as for 1st Block.

Join a 3d Block on 2 sides to both 1st and 2nd Blocks.

PLACE MAT-(Size-12 x 18 inches)-Make 29 Blocks and join as in Chart.

Edge-Join to joined p-lps between Blocks at "A" on Chart, ch 15, dc in next p on corner Block, (ch 12, sc in next p-lp, ch 12, dc in next p) twice, * ch 10, tr in joined p-lps between Blocks, ch 10, dc in 1st p on next Block, ch 12, sc in next p-lp, ch 12, dc in next p. Repeat from * around, making each corner the same as 1st one. Join final ch-10 to 5th st of 1st ch-15.

Make (6 Sc, ch 5, sl st in last sc for a p, and 6 sc) in each ch-10 lp, (7 sc, p, 7 sc) in each ch-12 lp around. Join and fasten off.

GLASS DOILY-(Size-6 inches)-Join 3 Blocks.

Edge-Join to joined p-lps between 2 Blocks, ch 15, dc in next p, * (ch 12, sc in next p-lp, ch 12, dc in next p) 3 times, ch 10, tr in joined p-lps between Blocks, ch 10, dc in next p. Repeat from * around. Join to 5th st of ch-15. Repeat Row 2 of Edge.

Stretch and pin Doilies right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
