Crib Cover Pattern
Vintage filet crib cover made from multiple motifs with personalized center motif and filet border.

Pattern instructions
Filet Motif
FILET MOTIF. Ch 107, work 1st dc in 8th st from hook, ch 2, skip 2 sts, dc in next st, repeat from * across row (34 open meshes), ch 5, turn.
2nd Row. Dc in dc, ch 2, dc in next dc, repeat from * across row and continue work following diagram working 4 dc for each solid mesh and 3 dc for each additional solid mesh.
Work 2 of your favorite 14 designs and 1 each of the remaining 6. For the center motif work out the name and date following alphabet and numerical charts.
Around each motif work the following edge: Join thread in 1st mesh from corner and work 2 sc in each mesh to corner, 5 sc in corner mesh, continue all around, join.
2nd Row. Ch 5, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc repeat from * 15 times, ch 5, sc in center sc of corner, ch 5, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc and repeat from beginning all around.
3rd Row. Sl st to center of loop, ch 3, dc over loop, ch 5, sl st in 4th st for picot, ch 1, 2 dc over next loop, repeat from * 15 times, picot loop, 2 dc over same loop, picot loop, 2 dc over next loop, picot loop, 2 dc over same loop, picot loop, 2 dc over next loop and continue all around.
4th Row. Ch 3, dc in dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, repeat from * 15 times, ch 3, 1 trc in each of the next 2 dc, ch 5, 1 trc in each of the next 2 dc, ch 3 and continue all around.
5th Row. 3 sc over each loop and 1 sc in each dc to corner, in corner work 4 sc, ch 4, 4 sc, continue all around.
Border
Sew motifs together arranging them as illustrated or desired and finish with filet edge.
Join thread in corner of cover, ch 5, skip 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 2, repeat from * to corner, in corner, ch 2, dc in same space, repeat meshes all around (there should be 35 meshes across each square, 1 mesh over each joining and 1 mesh in each corner).
2nd Row. Ch 5, dc in dc, 2 dc in space, dc in dc, 3 open meshes, 1 solid mesh, repeat from * to corner dc, ch 2, dc in corner mesh, ch 2, dc in same space, ch 2, dc in next dc, continue all around working all corners in same manner.
3rd Row. Work open meshes all around. 4th Row. 3 open meshes, 1 solid mesh, repeat all around and work 1 row of open meshes. 5th Row. Work same as 4th row placing the solid mesh over solid mesh in 2nd row. Continue border for 9 more rows or width desired and finish with the following shell in each mesh, 1 sc in mesh, ch 2, 2 dc in same mesh.
