MOTIF. Starting at center with Pink, ch 2. 1st rnd: 12 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in 1st sc made.

2nd rnd: Draw loop out to measure 1 1/2 inches, yarn over, insert hook in same place as sl st, yarn over and draw loop through to measure 1 1/2 inches. Repeat from * 6 more times, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a long cluster made). Yarn over, insert hook in next sc and complete a long cluster as before. Repeat from ** around. Join with sl st to tip of 1st cluster made. Fasten off.

3rd rnd: Attach White to same place as last sl st. Ch 1, 2 sc in same place, 2 sc between clusters, 2 sc in next cluster. Repeat from * around (48 sc). Join.

4th rnd: Ch 3, dc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, 3 tr in next st (corner), dc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * around, ending with 3 tr in last st, sl st in 3rd st of ch-3. Fasten off. This completes one motif.

Make 32 motifs in all with pink centers, and 31 motifs with blue centers. Arrange motifs alternately having 7 x 9 motifs, with a pink one in each corner. Sew on wrong side with neat over-and-over stitches using White.

EDGING. Attach Pink to one narrow end of carriage cover. 1st row: Work across width as follows: Sc in 1st st, ch 3, (yarn over hook, in same place as last sc draw up a loop to height of ch-3) 5 times; yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, skip 3 sts, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.

2nd row: Attach Blue and work 2 sc in ch-3 sp, sc in st on motif preceding pink sc (long sc made between clusters). Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
