Pattern instructions

Center Section

CENTER SECTION

CENTER SECTION: With White and afghan hook chain (ch) 105 to measure 21 inches. Work 104 afghan stitches (sts), (afghan st: pick up and pull a loop through 2nd st from hook, pick up and pull a loop through each remaining st of ch, leaving all loops on hook, drop White, attach Blue, work back by drawing yarn through first loop, yarn over hook, draw through 2 loops, repeat from * to end of row).

2nd Row

2nd Row. With Blue work same as 1st row picking up vertical yarn instead of ch, drop Blue, pick up White and work back the same way.

3rd Row

3rd Row. With White work same as 2nd row, picking up each vertical loop in back of work (instead of front), drop White, pick up Blue and work back the same way.

Repeat and finish section

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately, working in color scheme until section measures 27 inches from beginning, ending with 3rd row of pattern leaving 1 loop on hook, cut both yarns. Attach White in loop on hook and work 1 slip stitch (sl st) in each vertical loop in front of work, cut yarn. Block center section to measure 20 inches x 27 inches.

BORDER

BORDER: With Blue, using crochet hook, and right side of work toward you, work a row of single crochet (sc) around entire cover, keeping work flat and working 3 sc in each corner, join, ch 1, turn.

Next Row

Next Row. 1 sc in each sc, working 3 sc in center st at each corner, join, ch 1, turn.

Repeat rows

Repeat last row 6 times, but ch 4 to turn last row.

BEADING

BEADING: Skip 1 st, dc in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next st, repeat from * to center st of next corner, ch 1, dc in same space, repeat from * once, repeat from ** all around, ch 1, join in 3rd st of ch, ch 1, turn.

After beading

Next Row. 1 sc in each dc, 1 sc in each ch 1 space, working 3 sc in center st at each corner, join, ch 1, turn. Next Row. 1 sc in each sc, working 3 sc in center st at each corner, join, ch 1, turn. Next 6 Rows. Repeat last row, cut yarn. Lace ribbon through beading, tie into a bow at opposite corners.
