Crocheted Ribbon Stole

Materials Required: 9 Spools FAIRKNIT Ribbon. 4 Spools FAIRKNIT Brocade. Steel Crochet Hook #0. Gauge: 3 tr — 2 inches.

Pattern: Row 1: (Brocade) *Ch 5, sc into top of dc of previous row, repeat from * across row, ch 6, turn.

Row 2: (Brocade) sc into 3rd ch of previous row * ch 5, sc into 3rd ch of previous row, repeat from * across row to end. Drop brocade and pick up ribbon.

Row 3: (Ribbon) 1 dc (long loop) in first st, ch 1, in 3rd ch of previous row make * 3 dc as follows: yo, draw up loop, pull through 2 strands, yo, draw up loop, pull through 2 strands, yo, draw up loop, pull through 2 strands, 4 sts on needle, pull ribbon through 4 sts. Ch 3, repeat from * across row, ending 1 dc in last space.

Row 4: Repeat row 3. Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

Starting with ribbon: make a chain 24 inches long. Work 1 row of sc across entire chain. Ch 5, turn, sc into 3rd st, * ch 5, sc into 3rd st, repeat from * across row. Work 3rd row of pattern. Attach brocade and start working in pattern until work measures 63 inches. Work 3rd row of pattern. Work 1 row of ch 5 across, then work 1 row of sc. Fasten off.

Fringe: Cut ribbon in 20 inch strands. Double 10 strands to form a lp. Take a short strand of ribbon, draw through loop and knot, then tie into first st at end of stole. With a piece of brocade, wind around 6 times and tie 1 inch below loop, to form tassel. Continue across entire edge every 6 sts. Work opposite end in same manner.
