Make 40 sc over ring, join with a slip st, ch 1.

Make 1 sc into each st around, (40 sc).

Ch 4, 1 dc in same space as chain, ch 3, 2 dc into same space (shell); * skip 3 sts, in next st make (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc—shell); repeat from * 8 times more, join with a slip st to 3rd st of starting ch-4, (10 shells).

Ch 2, * over ch-3 space make (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc), ch 2, sc in next space between 2 shells, ch 2, repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, slip st to base of starting ch-2.

Slip st along ch-2 and top of first 2 dc and 1 slip st into next space, ch 7, slip st into 4th st from hook (picot), * into same space make 1 dc, ch 4, slip st in top of last dc just made (picot), repeat from * 4 times more, ** over the next ch-3 space make 6 dc with a picot in between, repeat from ** around, join round with a slip st. Continuing make a chain 14-inches long, slip st in base of this chain. Fasten off.
