A shell-stitch curtain pull worked from an amber ring, decreasing to a point, with a twisted contrasting cord.

Curtain Pull
Make 21 sc in ring. Ch 3, turn.
In first sc make dc, ch 2 and 2 dc (shell made); ch 2, skip 2 sc, dc in next 15 sc, ch 2, skip 2 sc, in next sc make 2 dc, ch 3 and 2 dc. Ch 5, turn.
In next sp make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc (shell made; over shell); ch 2, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 14 times; dc in next dc, ch 2, shell in sp of next shell. Ch 5, turn.
Shell over next shell, ch 3, skip next sp, sc in next sp, (ch 3, sc in next sp) 13 times; ch 3, shell over shell. Ch 5, turn.
Shell over next shell, ch 3, skip 1 sp, (sc in next loop, ch 3) 13 times; shell over next shell. Ch 5, turn.
Shell over next shell, ch 3, skip 1 sp, (sc in next loop, ch 3) 12 times; shell over next shell. Ch 5, turn.
Work same as 6th row, having 1 loop less on each row until 1 loop remains.
Shell over next shell, ch 4, sc in next loop, ch 4, 2 dc in next shell, ch 1, sl st in sp of last shell made, ch 1, 2 dc in same shell as last 2 dc. Ch 5, turn. Sl st in joining of shell. Break off.
Cord
Cut 2 strands of contrasting color, each 2 yards long. Knot the 2 strands together at center, thus marking off four 1-yard strands, and hold 2 strands in each hand, close to knot. Make a slip knot close to knot with the strands being held in right hand. Draw loop up 1½ inches and slip onto index finger of right hand. Holding knot firmly between thumb and middle finger of right hand, * insert index finger of left hand from right to left through the loop, pick up the strands of left hand with left index finger and draw a loop through. Remove first 3 fingers of right hand, then, holding knot firmly between thumb and middle finger of left hand, pull strands of right hand tight. Insert index finger of right hand from left to right through the loop, pick up the strands of right hand with right index finger and draw a loop through. Remove first 3 fingers of left hand, then holding knot firmly between thumb and middle finger of right hand, pull strands of left hand tight. Repeat from * until piece measures 8 inches. Pull ends through last loop, then draw ends back through length of Cord. Sew Cord to ring.
