Starting at neck edge, make a chain tightly to measure about 13½ inches.

Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

Sc in each sc across. Ch 4, turn.

* Skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

* Dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending row with dc in 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn. Break off after 10th row.

Attach thread to one end of foundation chain. Ch 6, and make 2 trtr in each sp along short side, 5 trtr at corner, * trtr in next dc, 2 trtr in next sp, trtr in next dc, 3 trtr in next sp. Repeat from * across, making 5 trtr at next corner, and working along other short side as before. Break off.

With right side of work toward you, attach thread to 4th tr tr from corner, ch 4, tr in next trtr, dtr in next tr tr, trtr in next trtr, 2 trtr in each of next 2 trtr, 3 trtr in next trtr, 2 trtr in each of next 2 trtr, trtr in each tr tr across, ending row to correspond with the beginning. Break off.

Attach thread to first tr tr of 11th row, and make sc in each of 2 trtr, half dc in each of next 2 trtr, dc in each of next 2 trtr, tr in each of next 2 trtr, dtr in each of next 2 trtr, trtr in each of next 2 trtr, tr in each of next 2 tr of 12th row, dtr in each of next 2 sts. Continue around corner as for previous row. Then make trtr in each tr tr across, making next corner as before, and complete row to correspond with beginning. Break off.

Make a chain tightly to measure about 8 inches.

Dc in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn.

* Dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across. Break off after 8th row.

Repeat 11th to 13th rows incl. (but omitting the 2 sc of 13th row) of collar. Break off.
