Coats Mercerized Crochet, 30 balls for curtains; 5 balls for runner. J, & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, 18 balls for curtains; 3 balls for runner. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10.

Curtain size

The amount of material soecified for curtains is sufficient for one pair, each curtain about 36 x 72 inches.

1st row

Starting at onelong side, make a chain about 3 yds. long (10 chsts to the inch). Ist row: Dcin 4thch from hook, dc ineach ch until row measures about 78 inches (number of dc should be divisible by 26, plus 4—counting turning ch as 1dc). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn.

2nd row

2nd row: Dc ineach of next 3dc,* ch 22, skip 22 dc, dcineach of next 4dc. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn.

3rd and 4th rows

3rd and 4th rows: Dcineachof 3dc,*ch22,dcineachofnext4dc. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn.

2nd to 13th rows

Now work as for Curtains 7170-A from 2nd to 13th rows incl. for 16 inches, taking care to complete the last pattern. Fasten and break off.
