ATERIALS: Use one of the following threads— J, & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 3 balls of White, Ecru, or any color. Clark's O.N.T. Lustersheen, 2 skeins of White or Ecru, or 3 skeins of any color. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8 or 9.

Gauge: 4sps make 1inch; 4 rows make linch.

Starting at one narrow end, making a chain 20 inches long (12 chsts to linch). Ist row: Dcin 8thch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across until 57 sos in all are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.

2nd row: Dcinnextdc(l1sp),2dcinnextsp,dcinnextdc(l bl). Ch 2, dcinnext dc (another sp). Make (1 bl, 1sp)5 times; make 10 more sps over sps below; (1 bl, 1 sp) 6 times; make 10 more sps; (1 bl, 1 sp) 6 times. Ch 5, turn.

3rd row: 2sps, *(1bl, 1sp) 5 times; 11 bls, 1 sp. Repeat from * once more, (1 bl, 1 sp) 5 times; | more sp. Ch 5, turn.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately 4 more times.

12th row: Same as 2nd row.

13th to 23rd rows incl: 2 sps, (1 bl, 1sp) 5 times; 34 more sps; (1 bl, 1sp) 5 times; 1] more sp. Ch 5, turn.

24th row: (1sp, 1 bl) 6 times, 33 sps, (1 bl, 1 sp) 6 times. Ch 5, turn.

25th row: 2 sps, (1bl, 1sp) 5 times; 34 sps; (1 bl, 1sp) 5 times; 1 more sp. Ch 5, turn.

Repeat 24th and 25th rows alternately 4 times.

34th row: Same as 24th row.

Repeat 13th to 34th rows incl. 4 more times, and 13th to 23rd rows incl. once.

Now repeat 2nd to 12th rows incl. once

Last row: Make sp over each bl and over each sp across to correspond with other end. Fasten off.
