If you want to make Violet trim you will need 1 ball Shaded Lavenders "DELUXE" or "PURITAN" and 2 yds. narrow Lavender Ribbon.

VIOLET: With Shaded Lavenders ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd st from hook, join in 1st sc. 2nd Round. * Ch 3, 2 dc in same space, ch 3, sl st in same space, sl st in next sc, repeat from * twice, * ch 4, 2 trc in same space, ch 4, sl st in same space, sl st in next sc, repeat from * once, cut thread. Work as many Violets as desired and sew to cover arranging as illustrated. Lace 4 motifs together with ribbon as illustrated.

Geranium Trim

Materials note

If you want to make Geranium you will need 1 ball Flamingo "DE LUXE" or "PURITAN" and 1½ yds. narrow Green Ribbon.

Geranium

GERANIUM: With Flamingo ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3 and work 14 dc in ring, join in 3rd st of ch. 2nd Round. Ch 1, 2 dc in next dc, trc in same space, 1 trc, 2 dc in next dc, sl st in next dc, * 2 dc, 1 trc in next dc, 1 trc, 2 dc in next dc, sl st in next dc, repeat from * 3 times, join, cut thread. Work 4 more flowers in same manner. Cut 5-4 inch lengths of spool wire. Twist top end of one wire into a small circle and pull opposite end through center of one flower. Pinch flower together. Finish other 4 flowers in same manner. Twist all wires together. Work as many bunches as desired and sew to cover as illustrated. Tie 3 motifs together with ribbon at corners as illustrated.

Philodendron Leaf Trim

Materials note

If you want to make Philodendron Leaf you will need 1 ball Kelly Green "DE LUXE" or "PURITAN" and 1 yd. narrow Red Ribbon.

Rows 1–4

PHILODENDRON LEAF: With Kelly Green ch 4, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, 3 dc in next st of ch, 3 sc in next st, ch 1, turn. 2nd Row. Working in sc, 1 sc in each sc, working 3 sc in 1st and last sc, turn. 3rd Row. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, 1 dc in each of the next 4 sc, ch 3, turn. 4th Row. Same as last row, ch 1, turn.

Rows 5–13

Next 3 Rows. Working in sc, decrease 1 sc at the beginning and end of each row (to decrease: * insert hook in next st, pull loop through, repeat from * once, thread over and work off all loops at one time), ch 1 to turn each row. 8th Row. Working in sc, decrease 1 sc at the beginning of row, ch 1, turn. 9th Row. Working in sc, decrease 1 sc at end of row, ch 1, turn. Repeat the last 2 rows once. 12th Row. Same as 8th row. 13th Row.
