Sizes 12, 14, 16 Instructions are for size 12, changes for sizes 14 and 16 are in parentheses. MATERIALS - Sultana Beauty-Glo, 9 (9-10) balls. Steel Crochet Hook, Size 4. MEASUREMENTS OF GARMENT-At bust line 33 (35-37) ins. GAUGE: 21 patterns = 10 inches; 9 rows = 2 inches

BACK-Ch 124 (132-140).

Row 1-3 dc in 4th st from hook, * skip 3 sts, 1 sc, ch 2, 3 dc all in next st; repeat from *, end skip 3 sts, 1 sc in last st; 30 (32-34) pats.

Row 2-Ch 3, turn, 3 dc in first sc, * skip 3 dc, a pat. of 1 Sc, ch 2, 3 dc all in space under next ch 2; repeat from *, end 1 sc in space under turning ch. Repeat last row until 3 ins. from beg. for waistband. Ch 1, turn, skip sc, slip st over first 3 dc, 1 slip st in space, slip st over next 3 dc, work pat. in next space and in each space to within 3 pats. of end, end with 1 sc in space of 3rd pat.; 26 (28-30) pats; 2 pats. left free each side for underlap.

Inc. row-Ch 3, turn, work 2 (3-4) pats., * skip 1 dc, 1 pat. in next dc - an inc. -, 1 pat. in space under next ch 2, work 2 more pats.; repeat from * until 8 incs. are made, finish row; 34 (36-38) pats. Work even until 11½ ins. from lower edge.

SLEEVES-Ch 11 for underarm, turn, 3 dc in 4th st from hook, skip 3 sts, 1 pat. in next st, skip 3 sts, 1 pat. in first sc of last row; continue pat. to end. Drop loop from hook. Join separate strand in same space as last sc, ch 8, fasten off; pick up loop, ch 2, 3 dc in same space with last sc, skip 3 ch sts, 1 pat. in next st, skip 3 sts, 1 sc in last st; 38 (40-42) pats. Ch 3, turn, continue pat. until sleeve edge measures 2½ (2½-3) ins.

Neck and Shoulder Shaping-Row 1-Work 17 (18-19) pats. for first half.

Row 2-Ch 3, turn, skip sc and 3 dc, 1 pat. in next space, finish row; 16 (17-18) pats.

Row 3-Keeping sleeve edge even, work 1 pat. less than in preceding row, ending with 1 sc in 2nd space from end of row. Repeat last 2 rows 4 times more; 7 (8-9) pats. Work even until sleeve measures 6 (6-6½) ins. from underarm, end at neck edge.

Shoulder-Work 5 (6-7) pats., end with sc in space of 3rd pat. from end. Break off. Turn, with loop on hook, beg. in space of 3rd (4th-4th) pat. from neck edge, work 2 (3-3) pats., end with 1 sc under turning ch. Fasten off.

Working from same side as first short row of neck shaping, skip 4 center pats., 1 sc in space of 4th pat., finish row; 17 (18-19) pats. Shape to correspond to other half of back, working 3rd row of shaping first; then 2nd row. Work even until sleeve edge is same length, end at sleeve edge. Break off.

Turn, with loop on hook, 1 sc in space of 3rd pat., work 4 (5-6) pats. Ch 3, turn, work 2 (3-3) pats., end with sc in next space. Fasten off.

FRONT-Ch 108 (116-124). Work 26 (28-30) pats. on ch, same as for back. Work even until 3 ins. for waistband.

Inc. row-Work 1 (2-3) pats., * work 2 pats. in next pat. as on back, work 1 pat., work 2 pats. in next pat., work 2 pats.; repeat from * until there are 10 pats. increased, finish row; 36 (38-40) pats. Work even until same length as back to sleeves. Add 2 pats. each side as on back; 40 (42-44) pats. Work even until 1½ ins. above underarm.

Shape neck and shoulders as for back, leaving 6 pats. free at center instead of 4.

FINISHING-Sew shoulder seams, taking care to match pats. at shoulders.

To fill in neck edge, work 1 row of pat. from right side on straight part of left neck edge, end with 1 sc in space of first pat. of shaping. Break off. Fill in right neck edge to correspond.

BEADING-With loop on hook, from right side, beg. at shoulder seam, 1 dc in sc of a pat., * ch 2, 1 dc in sc of next pat.; repeat from * around neck edge, join.

Round 2-Ch 1, 1 slip st under the ch 2, * ch 3, 1 slip st under next ch 2; repeat from * around, join. Fasten off.

Sew underarm seams leaving edges of waistband free. Tack top edge of back underlap to front. Line underlap and overlap with ribbon. Steam. Draw velvet ribbon through beading. Sew snap fasteners at waistband.
