M ATERIALS: J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, size 30: Small Ball: J.& P. Coats—10 balls of White or Ecru, or 14 balls of any color, or Clark's O.N.T.—16 balls of White, Ecru or any color. Steel Crochet Hook No. 11.
Gauge
GAUGE: 5 sps make linch; 5 rows make linch.
Runner
Starting at bottom of chart, make a chain 22 inches long (15 chsts to linch).
Ist row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in eachchacross until 289 dc are made, counting turning ch as 1 dc. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn.
2nd row: Dc in next 3 dc (bl over b| made); ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc (sp over bI made); make 93 more sps, dc innext 2 dc, dcin top st of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
3rd row: Bl over bl, ch 2, dc in next dc (sp over sp made), 36 more sps, 2 dc innext sp, dc innext dc (bl over sop made), make 3 more bls, 12 sps, 4bls, 37 sps, bl. Ch 3, turn.
4th row: 1 bl, 1 sp, 4 bls, 18 sps, 3bls, 1Osps,1bl, 4sps, 2 bls, 8sps, 2 bls, 4sps, 1 bl, lO sps, 3 bls, 18 sps, 4bls, 1sp,1 bl. Ch 3, turn.
Chart shows one quarter of design. To make second half of each row, repeat the first half, starting at center and working back. Starting at 5th row, follow chart to top. This completes one half of runner; reverse chart and work back to Ist row incl to complete runner. Fasten off.
