M aterials: Clark's O.N.T. Cronita, 3 balls, or J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 2 balls, of White or Ecru. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 6. When completed, runner measures about 14x 35 inches.

Ist row: Dcin 4th ch from hook, 1dcineach st of foundation ch. Ch 3, turn.
2nd row: Dcineach of Ist 3dc,*ch5,skip 4dc,dcinnext, ch3, skip 2dc,slstin next, ch 3, skip 2dc, dcinnext, repeat from * 10 more times, ch 5, skip 4dc, dcineach of next 3dc,ch3turn.
3rd row: Dcineachof next 3dc,*ch3,slstincenterst underch-5 loop, dcindc, 2dcunder each ch-3 loop of lacet, dcindc, repeat from * 9 more times, then make 5d cunderch-5loop,dcindc,ch5, of ch-5,ch3,dcindc, ch5,dcindc, repeat from * 10 more times, thus making lacet over open sps across row. Thench 3, sl stin center st of ch-5,ch 3,dcineach of next 3dc,ch3, turn.

17th row: Same as 16th, except in center section, alternate the lacets over the ch-5 loops, and the ch-5 loops over the lacets, as in 2nd and 3rd rows.
18th to 124th rows incl: Alternate 16th and 17th rows.
125th row: Same as 15th row. Continue work, making this end of runner to correspond to other end.
