This stole can be made with any of the following: "DAWN" or "CLOVER LEAF" NYLON or "DAWN" DACRON FINGERING YARN or "DAWN" NYLON SOCK & SWEATER YARN or "DAWN" BRAEBURN SPORT YARN 7 ozs. White or color desired. Plastic crochet hook size F same as size 3 or 4. Each motif measures about 12 inches.

MOTIF: Ch 1 loosely (center of motif), ch 1 tightly, draw up loop on hook to ½ inch, * yarn over, insert hook in center, pull loop through pulling loop up ½ inch, repeat from * once, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1 tightly, ** ch 5 (corner), * yarn over, insert hook in center, pull loop through pulling loop up ½ inch, repeat from * twice, yarn over and work off 6 loops, yarn over and work off remaining 2 loops, (petal), ch 3, * yarn over, insert hook in center, pull loop through pulling loop up ½ inch, repeat from * twice, yarn over and work off 6 loops, yarn over and work off remaining 2 loops, repeat from ** twice, ending with ch 5, work another petal in center, ch 3, join in top of 1st petal, cut yarn.

2nd MOTIF: Work center and 1st petal same as on 1st motif, ch 2, sl st in corner loop of 1st motif, ch 2, petal in center of 2nd motif, ch 1, join to next ch 3 loop of 1st motif, ch 1, petal in center of 2nd motif, ch 2, join to next corner loop of 1st motif, ch 2, petal in center of 2nd motif, complete motif same as 1st motif, join, cut yarn.

Join 3rd motif to 2nd motif and 4th motif to 3rd and 1st motifs in same manner. Work 272 more motifs joining in same manner having 23 motifs in 1st row, 22 motifs in 2nd row, 21 motifs in 3rd row, then continue to work and join motifs in same manner having 1 less motif in each row until 1 motif remains in last row.
