Popcorn Classic Bag
Oval-base crochet bag in Star Blend Yarn with White, National Blue, and Black, worked in rounds with beading and drawstrings. Originally published in Hats, Bags and Bulky Sweaters, Star Book 107.

Materials
This Hat and Bag can be made with: "STAR" BLEND YARN, Article 75. 2 skeins White for hat and 2 skeins White for bag. 1 skein each National Blue and Black or colors desired. Aluminum crochet hook size F.
Bag
BAG With White ch 18, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 15 sts of ch, 3 sc in last st, working on opposite side of ch, 1 sc in each of the next 15 sts, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of each round.
2nd Round. 2 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 15 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 15 sts.
3rd Round. Sc in next sc, 2 sc in each of the next 4 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 17 sc, 2 sc in each of the next 4 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 16 sc.
4th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in each of the next 6 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 17 sc, repeat from * all around.
5th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, 2 sc in each of the next 6 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 20 sc, repeat from * all around.
6th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 21 sc, repeat from * all around.
7th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 21 sc, repeat from * all around.
8th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 21 sc, repeat from * all around.
9th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 24 sc, repeat from * all around.
10th Round. * 1 sc in each of the next 13 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 16 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 28 sc, repeat from * all around, sl st in each of the next 2 sts to even round, turn.
11th Round. Working over entire st by inserting hook from front to back and to front again, work 1 sc over each sc, join, cut yarn, turn.
Next 5 Rounds. Same as 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th rounds of hat.
17th Round. Attach White and work 1 sc in each st, do not join this or following rounds.
Next 13 Rounds. 1 sc in each sc.
31st Round. Decrease 10 sts evenly spaced.
Next 7 Rounds. Work even in sc.
Next Round. Decrease 10 sts evenly spaced.
Next 5 Rounds. Work even in sc, sl st in last 2 sts at end of last round to even round.
Next Round. BEADING. Ch 7, skip 2 sc, dtrc in next sc, * ch 2, skip 2 sc, dtrc in next sc, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 5th st of ch 7.
Next Round. Ch 1, sc in same space then work 2 sc in each mesh and 1 sc in each dtrc, do not join this or following rounds.
Next 2 Rounds. 1 sc in each sc.
Next Round. * Sc in next sc, dtrc in next sc, repeat from * all around.
Next Round. Sl st in each st, join, cut yarn.
Draw String
DRAW STRING: With White, crochet a chain about 30 inches long, sl st in 2nd st from hook, 1 sl st in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn.
Attach Blue at one end, sc in same space, ch 3, sl st in same space, cut yarn.
With Black, work other end in same manner.
Work another draw string in same manner. Lace through beading, lacing over 1 dtrc and under next dtrc. Lace other draw string starting at opposite side. Knot ends of draw string together.
