Rose Trellis Afghan Pattern #B-252
Simple crocheted squares with pretty pink roses sewn in the center. Afghan measures 42 x 60 inches. Originally published in Coats & Clark's #127, Afghans Knit and Crochet.

Motif
Starting at center, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring.
Ch 3, dc in ring, (ch 2, 2 dc in ring) 7 times; ch 2. Join with sl st to top of ch-3 (16 dc counting starting chain as 1 dc).
Sl st in next dc and next sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp, 4 dc in next sp, * ch 3—corner sp, (4 dc in next sp) twice. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3. Join to top of starting chain (32 dc).
Ch 3, * dc in next dc and in each dc to next corner sp, make 2 dc, ch 3 and 2 dc in corner sp. Repeat from * around. Join as before (48 dc).
Repeat 3rd rnd (64 dc). Break off and fasten.
Make 59 Cardinal and 58 Shaded Roses motifs.
Rose
Starting at center with Roses, ch 3. Join with sl st to form ring.
(Sc in ring, ch 1) 6 times. Join with sl st to first sc.
(In next ch-1 sp make sc, hdc, dc, hdc and sc) 6 times. Join.
Ch 1, (holding petals forward, sc around sc on first rnd, ch 2) 6 times. Join.
In each ch-2 sp around make sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc and sc. Join. Break off and fasten. Sew a Rose to center of each Cardinal Motif.
Sew motifs neatly together, alternating colors. Starting with a Cardinal Motif on first row, make 9 rows of 13 motifs.
Border
Attach Cardinal to any dc, ch 3 and dc closely around, making 7 dc in each of the four corner sps. Join. Turn.
Sl st in each dc around. Join. Break off and fasten. Block to measurements.
