Back

Starting chain

Back: With Yellow, ch 151.

1st row

1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each st of foundation ch. Ch 1, turn.

2nd row

2nd row: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

3rd, 4th and 5th rows

3rd, 4th and 5th rows: Repeat 2nd row. At end of 5th row, ch 5, turn.

1st row of lace pattern

1st row of lace pattern: * Skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st, 1 sc in same st, ch 3, repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in last st (omitting last sc), ch 5, turn. There will be 35 patterns in row.

2nd row

Work on these 15 patterns for 10 more rows, ending at neck edge. Shape shoulder by working 11 patterns, 1 dc and sc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, turn. Sl st 2 patterns, and sl st to next dc, ch 3, 3 patterns, 1 dc and sc in next dc, ch 3, turn. Dc into 1st dc, ch 3, dc and sc into next dc, dc in next dc, break thread. 2nd to 9th rows incl: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn. Fasten off.

Tabs

Attach thread 3 inches in from one end of strip. To make tabs, ch 1, * sc in each of next 5 sc, ch 1, turn. Repeat from * once. Then sc in each of next 5 sc, ** ch 3, skip 2 sts of 9th row, dc in next st, sc in same st. Repeat from ** 6 more times. Sc in each of next 5 sts, ch 1, turn.

2nd row of tabs

2nd row: Work same as 7th row of collar tab.

3rd to 10th rows incl

3rd to 10th rows incl: Same as 2nd.

11th to 15th rows incl

11th to 15th rows incl: Sc in each st of previous row, ch 1, turn. Fasten off.

Sew to sleeve

Sew to lower edge of sleeve, fasten closely with snap fasteners. Tack tab corners to sleeve.

Belt

Belt

Belt: Measure off about 30 or more strands of White, more than twice the desired finished length. Twist tightly, then double the twisted strands and give them a second twist in the opposite direction. Cut a piece of cardboard the desired length of tassel, and wind thread around cardboard for desired thickness. Cut threads along one end, and slip through loop at end of belt. To hold in place, wind tassel tightly with a strand of thread. Join other end of belt to make loop between the two strands and put tassel through in same way.
