Toy Elephant Pattern
Stuffed flat-piece crochet elephant worked in sc with body section, ears, tail, and jet bead eyes. Made in Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn in Pink.
Materials
- Aluminum Crochet Hook · Size H OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
Pattern instructions
Body Section
Ch 13, 2 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of next 10 sts of ch, sl st in next st, ch 5, turn.
2nd ROW: 2 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts of ch, 1 sc in each st, ch 1 to turn all rows—18 sc.
3rd ROW: Working in sc, inc 1 st at beg of row.
4th ROW: 1 sc in each sc.
NEXT 2 ROWS: Repeat 3rd and 4th rows.
7th ROW: Inc 1 st at beg of row, 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sts, dec 1 st at end of row (to dec: pull up a loop in each of 2 sts, yo and work off all loops at one time), cut yarn, turn.
8th ROW: Skip 1st 3 sts, attach yarn in next st, work 1 sc in each remaining sc—16 sc.
9th ROW: 1 sc in each sc, ch 3 to turn at end of last row.
10th ROW: 1 sc in each sc, ch 3 to turn at end of last row.
11th ROW: 1 sc in each sc, ch 3 to turn at end of last row.

Ears
EARS: (Make 2). Ch 7, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts, sl st in next st, ch 4, turn.
2nd ROW: 2 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, sc in each remaining st, inc 1 st at end of row, ch 1, turn.
3rd ROW: Inc 1 sc at beg of row.
4th ROW: Inc 1 sc at beg and end of row.
5th ROW: 1 sc in each st.
6th ROW: Dec 1 sc at beg and end of row.
7th ROW: 1 sc in each st.
NEXT 4 ROWS: Repeat 6th row, cut yarn.
Finishing
FINISHING: Finish same as Toy Puppy Pattern.
Tail
TAIL: Ch 12, sl st in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch. Wind yarn 6 times over a 4 inch cardboard, tie one end and cut other end. Attach to end of tail. Sew tail in place.
Eyes
EYES. Sew 2 Black Jet beads in place for each eye. Trim as illustrated.
