Attach dark color to base of turning ch-3 at one corner on first row of block, ch1,2scinsamech,2sc under same ch-3,scinnextch,2scinnextsp,scindc,s cinnext sp, *ch6 and make ap, make another p, ch], si st in 3rd p of adjacent p-loop of first block, ch1, make 2 more p's, ch2,slstinsc of last so back on second block, scinsamesp,scinnextdc,2scinsp,scindc,scin nextsp, ch-5p,scinsamespaslastsc,scinnextdc,2s cinsp,scinnextdc,scinsp. Repeat from * until 4 p- loops in all are joined. Then complete remaining three sides of second block as first block was completed. Fasten and break off.
Clover
CLOVER. ... With dark color, * ch 6, trin 6th ch from hook, ch-5p, trinsamech,ch5,slstinsamech,ch4,4dcin Ath ch from hook, ch 3, slstinsame place as last dc. Repeat from * once more. Break off, leaving a 6-inch length of thread for sewing. Sew this clover to center of second block.
Assembly
Make 4 more floral blocks, and 4 more lace blocks, joining them as before, and alternating blocks (2x5 blocks).
Fill In Blocks

3rd row: Isp, 1bl,ch 5, skip 2 ch, sl st innext ch, ch 5, turn, skip 2 ch, dcinnextch. Ch 8, donot turn.
4th row: Dcin top of lastdc,1sp,1bl,2sps.Ch5, turn.
5th row: 3 sps, | bl, ch 5, skip 2 ch, sl stinnext ch. Ch 8, turn.
6th row: Sl st in 3rd st of last ch-5, ch 5, dcinnextdc,1sp,1bl,2sps. Ch 5, turn.
7th row: 1 sp, 1bl, 2 sps. Ch], turn.

Attach dark color to Ist st of starting chain, chl,2scincornerch-5,2scin 3rdch of same corner, sl stin corner of fill-in block, sc in same ch back onedging, 2scinsame sp, and continue across top of edging as for picot edging of large block, joining as before, and joining opposite corner to corner of adjacent fill-in block. Then continue along outer edge of edging as follows: 3scincornersp, ch-4p,2scinsame sp,2scinnextsp,scinnextdc,2scinnextsp,p,*2sc insame sp, 2scinnext sp, p. Pillow Top
PILLOW TOP No. 7161-B When completed, pillow top measures about 15% inches square. Make 2 floral blocks and 2 lace blocks exactly as for Runner 7161-A, joining blocks in same manner. Make 9 fill-in blocks as for fill-in blocks of Runner 7161-A, and joinin same way. Then make 8 pieces of edging, and join 2 pieces on each side of square. Sew this piece to pillow (see illustration).
