Wild Berries Afghan Pattern #B-255

The popcorns in the design give depth and dimension so that it really has the effect of berries.

MOTIF (Make 150) ... Starting at center with Mid Rose, ch 3.

7 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Join with sl st to top of starting chain—8 hdc, counting starting chain as 1 hdc. Break off and fasten. Attach Lilac to joining.

Ch 3 (to count as 1 dc), 4 dc in joining, drop loop from hook, insert hook in top of ch-3 and draw dropped loop through—starting pc st made, * ch 3, 5 dc in next hdc, drop loop from hook, insert hook in top of first dc and draw dropped loop through—pc st made. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 1, hdc in fastening loop of starting pc st—8 pc sts. Break off and fasten. Attach Amethyst in last ch-1 made.

Ch 3, starting pc st in same ch-1, ch 3, pc st in bar of the hdc, * ch 3, pc st in first ch of next ch-3, ch 3, pc st in third ch of same ch-3. Repeat from * around, ending as on previous rnd. Break off and fasten. Attach Mid Rose in last ch-1 made.

Ch 1, sc in same sp as yarn was attached, * sc in first dc of next pc st, 2 hdc in next ch-3 sp, dc in first dc of next pc st, in next sp make 2 dc, ch 3 and 2 dc—corner made; dc in first dc of next pc st, 2 hdc in next sp, 2 sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, ending with sc (instead of 2 sc) in next sp. Join with sl st to first sc. Break off and fasten. Attach Wine Rose.

Ch 1, picking up back loop only, sc in each st around, making 3 sc in 2nd st of each ch-3 corner. Join. Break off and fasten.

Using Wine Rose, with wrong side facing and picking up front loop only (to form a ridge on right side), sew 10 x 15 motifs neatly together.

BORDER ... With right side facing, attach Wine Rose in center of one edge. 1st and 2nd rnds (right side): Ch 1, picking up back loop only, sc around, making 3 sc in each corner. Join. Turn at end of 2nd rnd.

3rd rnd (wrong side): Sl st in each st around. Break off and fasten. Block to measurements.
