With Orange ch 6, join to form a ring, ch 3, 3 dc in ring, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 3rd st of ch, pick up loop, pull through (all 1st popcorn sts are worked in this manner), *ch 2, popcorn st in ring (popcorn st: 4 dc in same space, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 1st dc, pick up loop and pull through st), repeat from * 6 times, ch 2, join in 1st popcorn St.

2nd ROUND: Sl st into loop, work 2 popcorn sts in each loop with ch 2 bet each popcorn st all around, join in 1st popcorn st.

3rd ROUND: Same as 2nd round.

4th and 5th ROUNDS: Sl st into loop, popcorn st in same loop, * ch 2, popcorn st in next loop, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join, cut yarn—32 ch 2 loops.

Attach White in any ch 2 loop, ch 3, (count as 1 dc) 2 dc in same loop, 3 dc in each of next 2 loops, ch 1, turn.

2nd ROW: 2 sc in 1st dc, 1 sc in each dc to within last dc, 2 sc in last dc, ch 3, turn.

3rd ROW: 1 dc in same space, 1 dc in each sc, 2 dc in last sc, ch 1, turn.

4th ROW: Same as 2nd row.

5th ROW: 1 dc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

6th ROW: Same as 2nd row.

Repeat last 2 rows once —19 sts at end of last repeat.

9th to 15th ROWS: Work even in pattern, working 1 row in dc, 1 row in sc.

16th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg and end of row, ch 3, turn.

NEXT 4 ROWS: Repeat last row.

21st ROW: Dec 2 sts at beg of row (to dec: keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, yo hook and pull through all loops at one time), 1 dc in each sc to within last 3 sc, dec 2 sts in next three sts, ch 1, turn—5 dc.

22nd ROW: Work even, ch 3, turn.

23rd ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, yo and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, sl st at base of dc, cut yarn.

Work 7 more petals in same manner skipping 1 loop between petals.

Attach Emerald in any free loop, ch 3, 6 dc in same space, ch 1, turn.

NEXT ROW: 1 sc in each dc, ch 1, turn.

NEXT 7 ROWS: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

10th ROW: Dec 1 sc at beg and end of row, ch 3, turn.

11th ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, yo and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, sl st at base of dc, cut yarn.

Work a leaf in same manner in each of remaining 7 free loops.

Attach White at base of left side of petal, working around petal at side of rows, work a sl st in each of 1st 11 rows, working 2 sl sts in each dc row, * work a shell in next row (shell: 5 dc in same space), sc in next row, repeat from * 5 times, shell in dc, sc at side of dc, * shell in next sc row, sc in next row, repeat from last * 4 times, shell in next row, sl st down remaining 11 rows to base of petal, cut yarn. Work around all petals in same manner.

Sew petals tog at side to center dc of 1st shell. Sew leaves down in position. Block lightly.

With Orange work same as 1st 2 rounds of rug, cut yarn.

Attach White in any loop, ch 3, 5 dc in same loop, ch 1, turn.

2nd ROW: 2 sc in 1st dc, 1 sc in each dc to within last dc, 2 sc in last dc, ch 3, turn.

3rd ROW: 1 dc in same space, 1 dc in each sc to within last sc, 2 dc in last sc, ch 1, turn.

4th ROW: Same as 2nd row.

5th ROW: Same as 3rd row.

6th ROW: Same as 2nd row —16 sts.

7th ROW: 1 dc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

8th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg and end of row, ch 3, turn.

9th ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, yo and pull through all loop at one time (dec), 1 dc in each sc to within last 3 dc, keeping last loop of each st on hook 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, yo and pull through all loops on hook (dec), ch 1, turn.

10th ROW: Skip 1st dc, dec 1 sc in next 2 sts (2 sc dec), 1 sc to within last 4 sts, dec 2 sc in 4 sts by working 2 tog twice, ch 3, turn.

11th ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, yo and work off all loops at one time, ch 3, sl st at base of last dc, cut yarn.

Skip one loop, attach yarn in next loop, ch 3, 5 dc in same loop, ch 1, turn.

2nd, 3rd and 4th ROWS: Work same as large petal.

5th ROW: 1 dc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

6th ROW: Inc 1 sc at beg and end of row, ch 3, turn—14 sts.

7th ROW: Work 3 dc tog at beg and end of row, 1 dc in each st between.

8th ROW: Dec 2 sc at beg and end of row, 1 sc in each st between, ch 3, turn.

9th ROW: Work all sts tog, ch 3, sl st at base of dc, cut yarn.

Work 2 more small petals in same manner skipping one loop between each petal (1st half completed). Skipping one loop between each petal, repeat last 4 petals—8 petals at end of round.

Attach White at side of one large petal at base, sl st up side to 5th row, * work a shell on side of next sc row (shell: 5 dc in same space), sc in next dc row, repeat from * twice, shell in top of petal, sc on side of ch 3, * shell in next sc row, sc in next row, repeat from * once, shell in next sc row (7 shells), sl st to base of petal, cut yarn. Work other large petal in same manner. Attach yarn at side of small petal at base, and work same as large petal having one less shell on each side-5 shells around petal. Work remaining small petals in same manner.

Attach Emerald in any free loop, ch 3, 4 dc in same space, ch 1, turn.

NEXT 2 ROWS: 1 sc in each st, ch 3 at end of last row.

4th ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, yo and work off all loops at one time, ch 3, sl st in base, cut yarn.

Work a leaf in same manner in each remaining free loop.

Block lightly. Sew each side of petal up to center of 1st shell. Sew leaf over seam of each petal.

Attach White in back of shell of large petal at side of 9th row, ch 1, work 4 sc to joining of petals, work 16 sc around next petal working in back loop of 2 shells, in dc of petal and in back of 2 shells at side to opposite joining. Work next 2 petals in same manner. Work large petal at lower edge in same manner, but have 24 sc around petal. Complete remaining 3 petals, but work 4 sc at side of large petal at beg—128 sc.

2nd ROW: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

3rd ROW: 1 sc in each sc, dec 4 sts evenly spaced around large leaf at lower edge.

4th and 5th ROWS: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

6th ROW: 1 sc in 1st sc, *ch 2, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * to opposite end.

7th ROW: 1 sc in each sc, 2 sc in each ch 2 loop, cut yarn.

With White work a ch 54 inches long, cut yarn. Lace through beading.

With Orange work 1st 2 rounds same as rug, cut yarn.

Attach White in any loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same loop, ch 1, turn.

2nd ROW: 2 sc at beg and end of row, 1 sc in each dc between, ch 3, turn.

3rd ROW: 1 dc in same space, 1 dc in each sc to within last sc, 2 dc in last sc, ch 1, turn.

4th ROW: 1 sc in each dc, ch 3, turn.

5th ROW: 1 dc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

6th ROW: 1 sc in each dc.

7th ROW: Dec 1 dc at beg and end of row.

8th ROW: Dec 1 sc at beg and end of row, ch 3, turn.

9th ROW: Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, yo and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, sl st in base of dc, cut yarn.

Work 7 more petals in same manner in every other loop—8 petals.

Attach Emerald in any free loop between petals, ch 3, 4 dc in same space, ch 3, turn. Keeping last loop of each st on hook, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, yo and pull through all loops at one time, cut yarn, ch 3 sl st in base.

Work 7 more leaves in same manner.

Attach White at base of any petal, sl st across side of petal to within last sc, work 5 dc on side of next sc row (shell), sc in next row, shell in dc at top of petal, sc on side of next row, shell in next sc row, sl st down side of petal to base, cut yarn. Work all petals in same manner. Sew sides of all petals to center dc of 1st shell. Sew leaves down in position.

Wind Orange 35 times over a 3 inch cardboard, slip off cardboard. Tie at center, cut both ends and trim into shape. Tie in center of top.
