Tote Bag
Ch 24 to measure about 7 inches, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 21 sts of ch, 3 sc in last st, working on opposite side of ch work 1 sc in each of the next 21 sts, do not join this or the following rounds. Place a marker at beginning of each round.

Handle
HANDLE: Ch 43, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.
1 sc in each sc, cut yarn leaving an end. Sew long sides together to form a roll. Work another handle in same manner. Sew to inside of bag starting about 2½ inches from top. Cut a cardboard about 10½ inches x 4 inches and insert in bottom of bag.
Embellishment
Sew a bead in eye of each star st as illustrated, or with Brown, embroider a French knot in center of each star st.
